Woman found guilty of trying to help convicted cop killer evade capture, get rid of weapon

NEW KENSINGTON, pa. — The cousin of convicted cop killer Rahmael Holt was found guilty Thursday of trying to help him evade capture and get rid of the murder weapon.

It took the jury about seven hours to find Lisa Harrington guilty on all counts.

Harrington helped get rid of the gun that was used to kill New Kensington police Officer Brian Shaw in November of 2017.

Holt was convicted in the fall of 2019 and sentenced to death for the killing of Shaw.

Harrington also helped Holt evade capture in the hours that followed the shooting.

She took him to a girlfriend’s house that night, and then the next day, she got rid of the murder weapon, which was stashed in the basement of a New Kensington home.

Harrington will return to jail until her sentencing.

All seven people who helped Holt in one way or another during the homicide and days to follow have all been convicted.
