You can help in planning process for future of Ligonier Beach

LIGONIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — As officials work to bring back Ligonier Township’s Ligonier Beach, an important part of the planning process starts Wednesday night.

Officials say restoring the summer spot off Route 30 is about preserving history, and the public is being asked to weigh in. A meeting is being held at 7 p.m. Monday at Fort Ligonier’s hall.

Ligonier Beach, which had been open for more than 90 years, sustained damage from flooding and closed in 2018.

In November, the township used grants to purchase the property. A committee was developed, and an engineer was hired to come up with a redevelopment plan.
