On Instagram Monday, Savage shared the news that he is running for Congress.

Together, we can do better,” said Savage. “I am a proud Californian, union member, and longtime resident of District 30 who comes from a family of unwavering service to our country and community. I firmly believe in standing up for what is right, ensuring equality, and expanding opportunities for all. I’m running for Congress because it’s time to restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative, and compassionate solutions to our country’s most pressing issues.”

Savage is running as a Democrat in California’s 30th congressional district in 2024.

California’s 30th congressional district includes Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Pasadena, Glendale, and West Hollywood, The Associated Press reported.

That seat is currently held by Democrat Adam Schiff, who is expected to run for the Senate seat held by Dianne Feinstein, 89, who has been a senator from California since 1992, USA Today reported.

Other candidates running for the seat include former Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer and Democratic state assemblywoman Laura Friedman, according to the AP.

Savage ran for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council last year but only got 6% of the votes, the AP reported.

Savage starred in the ABC teen sitcom “Boy Meets World” when he was a child, according to the AP.

Savage appeared in 158 episodes of “Boy Meets World,” from 1993 to 2000, according to IMDb.com. He reprised the role in the Disney Channel spinoff series, “Girl Meets World,” from 2014 to 2017.
