A new office that is set up in the Pentagon is tracking reports of unidentified flying objects or UFO.
The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office was set up in the Pentagon back in July. According to The Associated Press, it is responsible for tracking down unidentified objects in the sky, underwater and in space.
AARO leadership said on Friday that they had received hundreds of reports but so far there is no evidence of alien life, according to the AP.
The office was established after a year of unidentified flying objects that military pilots were seeing but did not report because they were fearful of stigma, according to the AP. The office was set up not just to monitor UFOs but also to monitor the security risk that is posed by so many unknown flying objects by military installations or military aircraft.
In June 2021, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reported that from 2004 to 2021, there were 144 similar encounters and 80 of those were captured by multiple sensors, according to the AP.
An updated report from the director of national intelligence is expected by the end of the year, officials said, according to the AP. It is expected to provide specific numbers on new reports that have been received since 2021.
Last May, Congress held its first hearing in over half a century on unknown flying objects, with multiple members expressing concern that whether the objects are alien or some new, unknown technology from China or Russia, the unknown creates a security risk, according to the AP.
