According to The Associated Press, Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice said in a news conference Monday that the men who were found in the Deep Fork River were identified as four missing friends: Mark Chastain, 32; Billy Chastain, 30; Mike Speaks, 32; and Alex Stevens, 29.

According to the AP, investigators believe that the men left a house in Okmulgee on their bicycles on October 9.

KOKI reported that the men were leaving their house to allegedly commit a crime before they were killed.

Police say, according to the AP, that they interviewed a man on Friday who has been reported missing since and possibly suicidal.

KOKI identified the man as Joe Kennedy. He is being considered a person of interest but not a suspect yet. Kennedy owns a salvage yard in the area.

According to the AP, the bodies of the men were found Friday by someone passing through. Police say, according to the AP, that the person saw something suspicious in the river and called them.

The official cause of death is pending but Prentice said, according to the AP, that all four of them had gunshot wounds and their bodies were found dismembered.

The four bicycles have not yet been found, according to the AP.

The investigation is ongoing. No suspect has been arrested. No further information has been released.
