Person in wheelchair pulled to safety from burning Florida travel trailer

LAND O' LAKES, Fla. — Firefighters in west-central Florida rescued a person who was in a wheelchair after a fire broke out in a travel trailer Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The resident, who was not identified by Pasco County Fire Rescue officials, was flown to Tampa for emergency medical treatment, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Firefighting crews said they could see flames when they approached the burning recreational vehicle, WTVT reported. When crews went inside to search the trailer, they found the resident, Pasco Fire Rescue officials said.

The person’s condition was not released, WTVT reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
