According to a Facebook post by the Horry County Police Department, the cows were roaming along U.S. 701 in Loris, near the North Carolina state line.

While the stakes were not high for drivers’ safety, motorists were still asked to use caution in the area because the “livestock can be wily,” WBTW-TV reported.

“Mooo-ve slowly and keep your eyes peeled,” police wrote on Facebook.

The Horry County Animal Care Center is working with police to wrangle the wayward livestock, WPDE-TV reported.

The incident in South Carolina is the latest involving cows getting loose.

Multiple cows broke free from a trailer after a crash on the Loop 101 freeway in Glendale, Arizona, in late December after a crash involving the trailer.
