WPXI Presents: 'My Macy's Holiday Parade'

PITTSBURGH,None — Superstar celebrities, fabulous floats, marvelous marching bands and behemoth balloons were featured in the 2011 "WPXI Presents: My Macy’s Holiday Parade."

WPXI brought the parade right into Pittsburghers’ living rooms at 9:00 a.m.  Parade goers lined the sidewalks of 5th Avenue to watch in person.

The first big star to shine on 5th Avenue was Motor City superstar Mitch Ryder, who is most famous for his top ten hit “Devil With A Blue Dress On.” Joining him was one of the great Irish singers of our time, Michael Londra from “Beyond Celtic”. Rounding out the trio was the winner of MTV’s top pop group, Mosaic, an a cappella singing group sure to amaze.

Fans of HBO’s "True Blood" were greeted by Pittsburgh native Joe Manganiello.  Viewers took a trip down memory lane, welcoming actress Kathy Garver, who starred as Cissy in the classic 60’s show “Family Affair” and actor Ian Petrella from “A Christmas Story.”

World Record Holding Pogo Jumpers & Twirling Teams, gigantic balloons of Rudolph, Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, Buddy the Dinosaur, local high school marching bands, Pittsburgh native and singer Tino Coury, singer B.E. Taylor, beautifully decorated floats and Santa Claus joined the celebration.

Channel 11 anchors David Johnson and Peggy Finnegan hosted the parade, with the help on chief meteorologist Stephen Cropper and sports director Alby Oxenreiter on the streets.

WPXI thanks everyone who participated and helped with the parade!
