Former Pittsburgh Penguins winger Mark Recchi was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame Monday in his fourth year of eligibility.
The 22-year NHL veteran ranks fifth in games played with 1,652, 12th in points with 1,533 and 20th in goals with 577 in the history of the league reported Channel 11 News’ exchange partner TribLIVE.
Recchi played seven seasons with the Penguins in three stints with the team, reported TribLIVE. He ranks in the top 20 in team history in goals.
He won the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 1991 before being traded to Philadelphia in 1991, according to TribLIVe.

Other players that were also elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday were Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya, Dave Andreychuk and Danielle Goyette.
According to TribLIVE, Recchi is the 11th Penguins player to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Some of those names include Mario Lemieux, Paul Coffey, Ron Francis, Larry Murphy, Joe Mullen and Bryan Trottier who were teammates of Recchi's in the early 1990's.
