Pirates select Drew Maggi, place Reynolds on bereavement list; Choi moved to 60-day IL

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates have selected the contract of Drew Maggi from Double-A Altoona and have placed outfielder Bryan Reynolds on the bereavement list.

In addition, first baseman Ji Man Choi has been transferred to the 60-day IL.

For the 33-year-old Maggi, his first game action will mark his major league debut, creating a cool story. The infielder is currently in his 13th year of professional baseball.
