Several waves of rain expected through the week

PITTSBURGH — Have your umbrella and be ready to make quick changes to outdoor plans.

Several waves of rain and thunderstorms will be part of our forecast right through the week. There will be many dry hours, but slow-moving storms can drop heavy amounts of rain in a short period of time.

Most of the activity will be during the afternoon and evening hours when optimal heating is in place. Light winds at the surface and aloft won’t do much to steer the storms. So, localized flooding will be possible in areas that see repeated rounds of heavy rain.
