Bitter blast of winter returns for end of the week

PITTSBURGH — The March sunshine won’t do much to warm you up Thursday as winds from the northwest blow colder air back into the area.

Highs will struggle to get out of the 30s, below the average of 44 degrees we normally see this time of year. It will be breezy too and the extra wind will make it feel more like the 20s through the day.

Clearing skies will allow temperatures to get even colder Thursday night and early Friday. Wind chills are forecast to drop into the single digits and teens

Look for a gradual warm up in temperatures through the weekend.
