Snow moves in for Monday morning commute, mixes with rain

The temperature dropped to two degrees in Pittsburgh Sunday morning, marking the coldest air since 2019. It won’t be as cold tonight, with temperatures in the upper-20s and climbing toward Monday morning.

Snow will move in before sunrise on Monday, leading to a snowy morning commute. Snow will mix with rain by mid-morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for Indiana County and the ridges of Westmoreland and Fayette counties at 4 a.m. Monday. Expect anywhere from a trace to two inches of snow -- with isolated higher totals of three inches in the Winter Weather Advisory areas.

Temperatures on Monday will rise to the upper-30s, which will allow the changeover to rain through the morning. Winds will be breezy, too, with gusts up to 20 mph at times.

Another shot at snow showers arrives Tuesday morning as another weather disturbance moves in. Wednesday will bring temps near 50 degrees. However, the latest data shows a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon or evening.
