Makers of Monopoly reveal new Pittsburgh-themed board

PITTSBURGH — The makers of Monopoly revealed a new Pittsburgh-themed game board on Wednesday.

An event was held at the National Aviary on Wednesday afternoon to introduce the new board.

Monopoly took submissions of locations and landmarks people wanted to see on the board.

Today, the business released a list of what made the cut.

The full game includes:

- Sites/attractions/things to do: Benedum Center, Byham Theater, Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, Duquesne Incline, Gateway Clipper Fleet, National Aviary, PPG Place, Rivers of Steel Carrie Blast Furnaces, U.S. Steel Tower

- Utilities and transportation: Duquesne Light Company, Pittsburgh International Airport, Pittsburgh Light Rail, Water Works

- Bridges: Andy Warhol Bridge, Rachel Carson Bridge, Roberto Clemente Bridge

- Outdoor locations: Frick Park, Mount Washington, Point State Park

- Corporations: BNY Mellon, U.S. Steel

- Eateries: Bae Bae’s Kitchen, Eat’n Park, LeMont Restaurant, Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream

- Universities: Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh

“The Pittsburgh-themed Monopoly board will celebrate our iconic sites and hidden treasures,” said Mayor Ed Gainey. “From the Duquesne Incline to the Carnegie Science Center, I am excited to champion our great city with this new addition to the Monopoly family.”

Anyone interested can purchase the game for $39.95 on Amazon, at CVS and at various local retailers.
