Steelers, Pittsburgh police step in after family’s Steelers-themed Christmas gifts were stolen

PITTSBURGH — When a family found out their Steelers-themed gifts were gone on Christmas Day, two Pittsburgh police officers and the Pittsburgh Steelers stepped in to make it right.

On Christmas Day, Zone 6 officers Haroulakis and Sadecky responded to the family’s home for a report of a burglary.

The homeowner told police that when she went down to the garage where she was keeping her children’s presents, she realized the gifts for her special needs son, Jackson, were gone. She explained that her garage door doesn’t lock properly.

All the gifts that were stolen were sports and Steelers-themed, such as trading cards, Pitt gear and a Najee Harris T-shirt.

The two officers went to the store themselves to buy replacements. Officer Haroulakis gave Jackson a framed, autographed photo he owned of former Steeler Willie Parker.

When the Steelers found out, the team invited the family and the officers to watch the last home game of the season on Sunday. They also wrapped a signed Najee Harris jersey for Jackson so he could wear it to the game.
