NEW YORK — Leslie Jones is moving on from "Saturday Night Live."
The comedian and "Ghostbusters" actress will instead be focusing on her film career, according to unnamed sources to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jones has a number of film projects lined up in addition to a recently announced Netflix stand-up special, which she will film in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 10. She joined the cast of "SNL" in 2014 after initially working on the NBC sketch show as a writer.
So far, Jones is the only cast member leaving. Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong.are set to come back for the 45th season. Deadline reported that cast members typically have a standard seven-year deal, but they can be asked to be released from deals early.
The new season of "SNL" premieres Sept. 28 with Woody Harrelson as host and musical guest Billie Eilish.
