2 arrested in fatal shooting of man during fake drug deal

UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Two people were arrested and charged Monday in connection with the shooting death of a man during a fake drug deal, police said.

Authorities said Jordan Mapstone, 24, died of a gunshot wound at Uniontown Hospital Sunday night after his girlfriend drove him there.

According to authorities Arsuan Patterson and Keli Brumley planned to rob Mapstone and his girlfriend despite telling the couple that they would sell them Xanax.

The pair planned to give Mapstone and his girlfriend a handful of Robitussin pills. Patterson met the couple on Dunlap Street and demanded $80, police said.

When the couple wouldn’t give him the money, Patterson stuck a gun in their car and opened fire, authorities said.

Investigators said Brumley confessed to setting the fake drug deal in motion, planning a robbery the whole time. She allegedly texted Mapstone’s girlfriend, telling her where to meet up for the pills.

Police said Brumley changed her cellphone number Sunday night immediately after seeing on Facebook that Mapstone had died.

Patterson and Brumley are both charged with homicide.

More arrests could be coming in the case, authorities said.
