TRAFFORD, Pa. — Five Serra Catholic High School students were taken to a hospital after a school bus crash Monday in Trafford.
Penn-Trafford School District Superintendent Matthew Harris said in a press release that six Serra Catholic High School students were on board a Penn-Trafford school bus when it was involved in an accident at the intersection of Route 130 and Forbes Road.%

Five of the six students were taken to Forbes Hospital for an evaluation, while the sixth student went home with a parent, Harris said. A spokesperson for the hospital said the students were treated and released within a few hours.
According to authorities at the scene of the crash, a dump truck struck the left side of the school bus, causing the accident. No additional details were immediately available.
The crash is under investigation.
