Free resources for Pittsburgh parents worried their child fell behind during the pandemic

PITTSBURGH — For parents concerned about learning loss during the coronavirus pandemic, here are some free educational activities and games are available online to inspire learning.

BrainPop - Short animated videos that explain difficult concepts in simple, kid-friendly terms. Topics include science, social studies, English, math, arts, music, health, and technology.

DreamBox - A K-8 digital math program designed to complement the math curriculum.

Education.com - Thousands of PreK through 5th grade worksheets and activities, designed by educators.

Epic - Library of 35,000 illustrated and chapter books for children 12 and under, including audiobooks and “read to me” books highlighting text karaoke-style.

Funbrain - Offers hundreds of games, books, comics, and videos that develop skills in math, reading, problem-solving and literacy.

Girls Who Code - Every week they offer a free new educational computer science activity, some online, some offline.
