Gibsonia estate owned by former EQT CEO and president listed for sale at $6.1 million

GIBSONIA, Pa. — A Gibsonia estate spanning 171 acres has been listed for sale by Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty with an asking price of $6.1 million, becoming one of the highest-priced homes for sale in the region this year. The residence is owned by former EQT CEO and president Steven Schlotterbeck and his wife Brenda.

Schlotterbeck said he purchased the property in 2010, which Allegheny County public real estate records showed cost $346,000. He enlisted the help of a local architect to then design and build the home, which was completed in 2013.

“It was so remote once you got on the property, it felt like you were miles away from anything,” Schlotterbeck said while adding that trips to downtown Pittsburgh only take about 30 minutes by car. “We could just envision that we could build a beautiful house up on the knoll. So we bought it.”
