Pittsburgh enters into four-year agreement with Google Cloud

PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh entered into a four-year agreement to migrate its legacy IT infrastructure to Google Cloud, according to a news release.

Through the agreement, the city’s Department of Innovation and Performance reported it will be able to build data analytics tools and advance “smart city initiatives.”

“We were immediately impressed with the scalability and flexibility of Google Cloud after using the technology for an initial storage migration last year,” Heidi Norman, acting director of the City of Pittsburgh Department of Innovation & Performance, said in a prepared statement.
