Report: Steelers local TV ratings take a big hit, but still 5th in NFL

PITTSBURGH — Despite making the playoffs in Ben Roethlisberger’s final season, local TV ratings were down for the Steelers from their normal stratospheric heights, according to a Sports Business Journal report.

From 2020 to 2021, the Steelers local TV ratings dropped 10% to 36.24. The Steelers ranked fifth in the NFL in 2021 local TV ratings. In 2021, there were four teams topping a rating of 40: The Buffalo Bills at 47.16, Kansas City Chiefs at 45.26, Green Bay Packers at 41.57 and the New Orleans Saints at 40.89. In addition to the Steelers, three other teams had ratings in the 30s in 2021, the Cleveland Browns, 35.19; New England Patriots, 31.47; and Seattle Seahawks, 31.41.
