State police issue 10 warnings, 1 violation of COVID-19 mitigation requirements

PITTSBURGH — The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement announced it issued 10 warnings and one violation to Pittsburgh-area businesses that have failed to abide by Covid-19 mitigation requirements between Aug. 5-6. These requirements include the enforcement of social distancing, masking and other health and safety regulations of the liquor code.

State police conducted 207 licensee checks throughout the Pittsburgh region during the reported time period, the second highest in the state behind Philadelphia's 222 licensee checks. In total, state police completed 1,168 licensee checks and issued 38 warnings and seven violations throughout the commonwealth during the two-day period.

The bureau said warnings are issued to all businesses found in violation of a given requirement before further administrative civil citations are given.
