Trek and Q Development break ground on $21.2 million development at Garden Theater block

PITTSBURGH — When it comes to delayed development projects in Pittsburgh, few have the history of the Garden Theater block on the North Side.

As its current development team of Trek Development Group and Q Development celebrated beginning construction on the last phases of the project at the City of Asylum’s Alphabet City on Wednesday evening, Trek President Bill Gatti spoke as a relative newcomer to taking it on.

“This for us only started six years ago,” Gatti said. “For many people in this room it’s been a much longer journey.”
