HOMESTEAD, Pa. — When it came to securing the future presence of one of the Waterfront’s biggest entertainment draws, Marty Sweeney confessed he “was shocked” that his company was able to establish a new five-year renewal with AMC Theatres for its AMC Waterfront 22 cineplex.
But as hampered as the publicly traded cineplex operator has been by a Covid-19 pandemic that has kept so many theaters empty, the theater chain still renewed at the Waterfront. Its previous lease expired at the end of 2020.
Sweeney, SVP of acquisitions and asset management at M&J Wilkow, provided the update on the cineplex along with other renewals of major entertainment draws at the Waterfront that include Dave & Buster’s and the Improv.
