Westinghouse headquarters campus going back on the market for sale

PITTSBURGH — After buying one of the region’s most important office headquarters in January 2020, Fortress Credit Advisors is opting to put the 824,000-square-foot Westinghouse Electric Company campus back up for sale.

A spokesman for Fortress wasn’t immediately available for comment but an executive for Seattle-based Thomas Co. acknowledged the firm was in “the early stages” of putting the complex up for sale while offering no further comment.

What is motivating Fortress to put the complex back on the market after paying $180 million for the campus amid the ongoing pandemic was the source of some surprise from some close local real estate observers, a number of whom didn’t see it coming.
