4 people hurt in shooting at Pittsburgh neighborhood bowling alley

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after four people were shot early Sunday morning in Carrick.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, police were sent to the Lane’Z Bowling Alley at the corner of Brownsville and Copperfield Ave. around 4:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

Officers found two men with gunshot wounds. One man was shot multiple times in his chest/torso and trunk. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and immediately taken into surgery. The other was shot in his torso. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Around 6 a.m., two women arrived at hospitals outside of city limits with graze wounds.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials say “it appears” the men were firing at each other.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are continuing the investigation.

The gunfire happened across the street from a church. Channel 11 spoke with a volunteer from Love Carrick, who was getting ready to serve free breakfasts. He is frustrated with the ongoing issues in the neighborhood.

“There’s been a number of problems at the address for months,” Andy Miscuk said. “Police calls, violence, broken bottles all around here in the parking lot and street.”

Miscuk says the property is a “known operation” that’s had a “recent spate of activity.” He wants to see the city take action.
