PITTSBURGH — Six members of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire received promotions on Friday.
The promotional ceremony in the Council Chambers.
“Promotions within the Fire Bureau are not just merely about titles or positions, they are about recognizing the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond in the call of duty. I challenge you to remember that your experience with the public—how competent you are, how much empathy you show, how much you care—is how they will forever more remember our bureau,” said Chief of Fire Darryl Jones during his opening remarks.
Firefighters Sean Meckling and Franklin Trabucco became lieutenants.
Lieutenants Michael Cowan, Charles Lewis and Dominic Piccola became captains
Captain Sean Griffin was promoted to the rank of battalion chief.
“This promotion is much more than just a pay raise. It’s a commitment to be a leader. A commitment to be held accountable. And a commitment to grow and help new leaders come forward. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to upholding values, protecting the innocent, and serving the public--it has not gone unnoticed,” said Public Safety Director Lee Schmidt.
