PITTSBURGH — Earlier this month, Channel 11 News reported that the Animal Rescue League was looking for people interested in adopting a new dog.
On May 3, Pittsburgh Animal Control brought in more than a dozen Yorkies from a person that died.

“It was on the North Side. I guess this guy did some breeding and that was the plan there,” said Dan Rossi, Executive Director of Animal Rescue League.
The dogs underwent medical testing and were quickly ready for adoption.
More than 1,700 people inquired about the dogs, according to the ARL.
“Based on a prospective adopter's responses on our adoption application, we will randomly choose 18 qualified individuals/families. Selected potential adopters will still need to complete the remainder of our screening process & adoption fees will still apply,” they wrote on their official Facebook page.
On Tuesday, Channel 11 News was there as several of the Yorkies met their new families.
