Allegheny County Controller’s Office employee facing child sex charges

PITTSBURGH — Target 11 has confirmed that an employee of the Allegheny County Controller’s office has been arrested on child sex charges.

25-year-old Cam Zmenkowski worked in the accounting department at the Allegheny County Controller’s office.

Controller Corey O’Connor confirmed to Target 11 that Zmenkowski he was hired in August.

O’Connor said he fired Zmenkowski today immediately after learning about the allegations involving a 15 year old boy.

Allegheny County police launched an investigation after the teen’s parents went to police on Monday.

Police questioned Zmenkowski and he told them he became friends with the teen last year.

According to the criminal complaint, he admitted sending explicit videos and engaging in sex acts with the teen.

County police have charged Zmenkowski with a host of charges, including indecent assault, indecent exposure and corruption of minors.

Authorities say Zmenkowski met the 15 year old on snapchat.

According to the criminal complaint, Zmenkowski sent the teen more than 25 sexually explicit videos, and he admitted to meeting the teen in a park and performing sex acts on him on at least ten separate occasions.

Zmenkowski remains in the Allegheny County Jail without bond.

The Controller told Target 11 it doesn’t appear that any of the allegations detailed in the criminal complaint involved any Allegheny County work computers.
