Police have charged a Westmoreland County man in a child pornography investigation.
Greg A. Hayes, 63, of Herminie, is facing 100 child pornography possession charges, as well as resisting arrest, disseminating child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility, online court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, Pennsylvania State Police’s Computer Crime Unit began investigating Hayes following multiple National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports.
Police executed a search warrant at Hayes’ home on Thursday, seizing electronic devices and digital storage devices.
Police allege that the devices contained more than 1,000 child pornography files.
Hayes is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison. Judge John E. Christner denied Hayes bail, calling him a threat to society, court records show.
A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 5.
