Body camera footage from the first officers on the scene after the murder of Karoline Heintz has been released.
The footage was entered into evidence as part of the preliminary hearing this week for the suspect and his mother.
In the video, you can hear the panic in the officer’s voice when he spotted Heintz’s body in the trunk of her car near PennWest California University.
“Hey, control, control, I need EMS here right now! I’ve got an unconscious female in the back of this car right now!” the officer says.
Officers were responding after Heintz’s family reported she was missing.
Footage also shows officers putting up crime scene tape and starting their investigation.
At one point, you can hear officers talk about the heartbreaking news they’ll have to share with her family.
“I haven’t, I haven’t talked to the dad yet, not until he gets here, and I’m going to have to tell him what’s going on, and I don’t even know how I’ll tell him that.”
Heintz was a recent Peters Township High School graduate and an incoming freshman at PennWest California University.
Her boyfriend, Royce Moser, is accused of killing her on August 19.
Moser’s mother, Rachel Moser, is accused of trying to help him cover it up.
In court this week, prosecutors presented a timeline of the night Heintz was stabbed to death.
They testified Royce Moser asked Heintz to stop at his house, but when she got there, they say she said something he didn’t like.
That’s when they say he went into the house, came back out with a knife and attacked her.
