ELCO, Pa. — A body was found in the Monongahela River in Washington County on Sunday morning, according to the coroner’s office.
A homeowner on 1st Avenue in Elco called 911 at 10:36 a.m. to report an unresponsive person in the river.
The body was entangled in debris about eight feet off the river bank.
The Roscoe Fire Department, along with Brownsville Ambulance, brought the body to the river bank.

The Washington County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Joseph D. Passafiume, 69, of California.
