WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Two people were taken to a hospital after a house fire in West Mifflin Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of Eliza Street.
Fire officials said the rear of the house and porch were on fire when they arrived.
The two people inside were already able to get out of the home, according to fire officials. They both were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters tried to save a dog that was inside, but could not make it into the home due to the fiery conditions.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
