The 37th annual Pittsburgh Mascot Skate was held at the Schenley Park Skating Rink on Saturday.

Mascots from local sports teams, businesses and schools take to the ice to have fun with visitors.

CitiParks hosts the event annually and said it is one of their biggest hits.

“This, for me, is just one of our best days with CitiParks. It is such a unique event. [It is] so much fun being out on the ice, taking pictures with the kids and the mascots. Everyone enjoys it,” said CitiParks spokesperson Susan Lucas.

Organizers hope the event will give kids the opportunity to interact more personally with the mascots and not just wave from a distance, as they might have to in other locations.

Over 40 mascots attended this year’s skate.
