Channel 11 spoke to two people who witnessed the ensuing arrests.
“All the police came out and tackled him to the ground,” witness Fred Fenner said about the alleged bank robber. “Did the same with the passenger.”
Witness Sarah McCusker said police “had these huge guns and they wrestled this lady out of the car and cuffed her.”
Channel 11’s cameras caught police loading the man into the back of a squad car.
Amber Johnston, 39, will also be charged with conspiracy in connection to Saturday’s robbery and the previous robbery in Mt. Lebanon, police said.
Both suspects have been transported to the Allegheny County Jail and have preliminary hearings set for Jan. 5.
