PITTSBURGH — A fugitive who is wanted on five warrants across multiple counties has been arrested.
A spokesperson for the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office said Eric Wagner, 34, of Beechview, was taken into custody on Thursday.
Police have considered Wagner a fugitive for more than a year and say he has four warrants out of Westmoreland County and a bench warrant out of Allegheny County.
Detectives learned Wagner was at a house along Keever Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Westwood neighborhood this week.
Authorities went to the location, knocked on the door, and announced their presence. Police heard a voice from inside the house tell them they were on private property and had to leave.
According to the sheriff’s office, police were able to identify Wagner through a window and applied for a search warrant.
As police prepared to serve that search warrant, they announced themselves one last time. This time, Wagner exited the house and was taken into custody without incident.
Police said one of the warrants from Westmoreland County was for failing to appear at a bond revocation hearing in connection with charges of theft and aggravated assault.
The warrant from Allegheny County was for failing to appear for a pre-trial hearing on a case involving nearly a dozen charges, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Wagner is now being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
