PITTSBURGH — With inclement winter weather in the forecast starting Wednesday evening, PennDOT officials have decided to close HOV lanes.
The I-279/I-579 HOV lanes initially closed Tuesday night, around two hours after the end of the Penguins game. They briefly reopened outbound for the Wednesday evening commute, then reclosed around 9 p.m.
The lanes are expected to stay closed through the Thursday morning rush hour.
