Lower Burrell man accused of killing grandmother's dog with hatchet

None — LOWER BURRELL, Pa. -- A Lower Burrell man accused of chopping the head off of his grandmother's dog has been arrested.

According to the Valley News Dispatch, police arrested Gregory Novick Jr. on suspicion of killing the animal.

Police said Novick was intoxicated and took the dog into the kitchen and killed it with a hatchet.

Novick has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
