Man accused of being the getaway driver in deadly Clairton double shooting

A man is accused of acting as a getaway driver in a double homicide outside a Clairton bar last month.

Online court records show Temon Jackson, 20, of Clairton, is charged with hindering apprehension, tampering with or fabricating evidence and firearms offenses.

The shooting happened the evening of July 25 near the Village Inn.

According to the criminal complaint, Jackson drove the SUV away from the scene after two men were shot along Miller Avenue.

Police say someone inside the SUV got into an argument with Terez Russell and Robert Jones.

Dashawn Hines, 19, of Clairton, was sitting in the back seat, according to the complaint. He reportedly fired several shots, killing both men, before the group fled.

Surveillance video showed Jackson retrieving an object from the SUV at a home on Independence Drive, the complaint states. He then allegedly discarded that item in the place where detectives later found a 9-millimeter handgun.

Jackson has been arrested and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, Allegheny County police tell us.
