Police: Man jailed for using antlers to attack disabled dad

MONONGAHELA, Pa. (AP) — A Washington County man has been jailed on charges he used a set of mounted deer antlers to attack his disabled father.

Arthur Benoit III, of Monongahela, faces a preliminary hearing March 10 on charges including assault and terroristic threats.

The (Washington) Observer-Reporter says police charged Benoit earlier this week for the Feb. 17 incident at the home he shared with his father.

Police say Benoit, 26, became angry when his dad wouldn't get out of bed that morning and broke the older man's wheelchair and cellphone before hitting the man in the legs and head with the antlers.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Benoit. He remained in the Washington County Jail on Friday, unable to post $10,000 bond.
