SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. — A man was killed after his car crashed over a hillside and into a tree in Somerset County.
According to Pennsylvania state police, 40-year-old Ronald Druist was driving at a high rate of speed south on Plank Road in Quemahoning Township on Saturday when he lost control of his car while turning right.
Police said Druist crossed the center line into the northbound lane and crossed back into the southbound lane before going off the road, hitting an embankment, going airborne, hitting the embankment again and going airborne down a hill and into a tree.
The car hit the ground and rolled onto its roof.
Police said Druist wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Druist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
