WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — A man killed when he was struck by a train in Westmoreland County has been identified.
William T. Taylor Jr., 29, was struck by a Carload Express train as it traveled south in East Huntingdon Township at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a report from Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson, Taylor was on the tracks. The operator of the train initiated the brakes and activated the horn but was unable to stop. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The East Huntingdon Township Volunteer Fire Department posted to Facebook at 11:41 p.m., advising that Johny Love Road was closed between Stone and Emory Hill roads due to an incident.
They posted that the road reopened at 1:45 a.m.
State police in Greensburg are investigating.
