Woman shot multiple times during robbery at Washington County store; police looking for 3 teens

WASHINGTON, Pa. — A woman who was playing a gambling machine inside a Washington County convenience store was shot multiple times during a robbery.

Officers were called to the Washington Food Mart on West Chestnut Street for a reported robbery around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, they found a woman who had been shot multiple times. Officers immediately began to provide first aid until medics arrived.

The woman was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. She is in stable condition.

According to the City of Washington Police Department, the woman was playing the games-of-chance machines inside when three people, who were armed, entered and attempted to rob the store. The woman then tried to defend herself by pulling out her legally concealed firearm and was shot.

Police said that the three suspects involved are all believed to be in their mid-to-late teens. Investigators are pursuing all leads and are working to identify those involved.
