Hambone’s, a popular bar and restaurant on Butler Street in Lawrenceville, has reopened after being closed down by the Allegheny County Treasurer’s Office.
According to a release from the county, Hambone’s owed more than $13,000 in alcohol taxes.
The restaurant was padlocked shut at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 but reopened about 24 hours later after paying the owed taxes.
The owners of Hambone’s said this was simply a misunderstanding.
