Rescue crews pull donkey from Cranberry Township pond

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A donkey is recovering after being rescued from a pond in Cranberry Township.

The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company says the county water rescue team and a Beaver County large animal rescue worked together to pull the donkey from the icy water.

Officials say it took about an hour and a half to free the donkey from the water. Once freed, the animal was taken to a garage to warm up and receive medical care. The department says the donkey is doing well.
