Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine are developing a gum that could help cut down on COVID-19 transmission.

The gum has a plant-based protein known as “Ace 2.” Researchers say it could trap the virus found in saliva.

The protein was originally developed to treat hypertension.
