WASHINGTON, Pa. — Washington County will host a Multi-Agency Response Center to assist local residents and businesses recovering from severe storm damage and flooding.
The event, organized in partnership with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, will bring together county agencies, state officials and disaster relief organizations to provide aid.
The response effort follows severe rainfall that caused flood damage across multiple Washington County communities on Sept. 12 and Sept. 20.

The center will be located at the American Legion at 168 Park Ave in Washington. It will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Representatives from state agencies, county departments and volunteer groups — including the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Washington County Department of Human Services — will be present to assist visitors.
Attendees can receive guidance on navigating insurance coverage, avoiding contractor fraud and repair scams and connecting with local community support organizations.

“This is an opportunity to bring critical resources directly to the front door of those in need,” Washington County Public Safety Director Gerald Coleman said. “We encourage anyone who has experienced loss or damage from these recent storms to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with those who can help as we, as a county, navigate the recovery process.”
Washington County Emergency Management is also asking affected individuals and business owners to report property damage through an online Crisis Track portal. County officials stated that the submitted information will aid ongoing efforts to assess the total extent of flood damage across the region.
