Former Moniteau teacher charged with sex crimes against students

BUTLER, Pa. — A former Moniteau High School English teacher has been charged with sex crimes against at least four of his students inside the classroom, according to police.

Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz was the first to report the teacher was under investigation, when police raided his house and took his computer last month.

Now Marcinkiewicz has learned that state police have filed charges against Jonathan Crum.

Investigators said Crum used his position by giving girls better grades if they allowed him to touch them.

Marcinkiewicz reported that the acts allegedly happened in his classroom.

Five girls came forward with allegations against Crum, police said.

According to police, it is believed that there are more girls that have not yet come forward.

Officials said Crum’s bond was set at $250,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 23.
