The plan includes a 3,500 seat arena for volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics, an indoor track and a multi-sport training facility. There will also be renovations to the baseball and softball fields.

Also part of the plan is a state-of-the-art athletic performance center housing sports medicine, nutrition and strength programs.

“Our community and government relations team has been in the neighborhoods, sharing our plans, soliciting input from our neighbors. Based on those reactions, at this point, we think people are pretty excited about it,” Pitt Chancellor Patrick Gallagher said.
